Kinzhal attacks
On Friday evening, 14 November, an air raid alert was issued across Ukraine after four MiG-31K aircraft took off in Russia.
When MiG-31K jets take off, a nationwide air raid alert is declared because the aircraft can carry Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. According to Russian sources, the missiles have a range of up to 2,000 kilometers.
These same missiles were used in a mass strike on Ukraine during the night of 14 November.
Monitoring channels first reported the takeoff of four MiG-31K jets, followed by confirmed launches. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, during the overnight attack, Russia fired three Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from Russia’s Ryazan region, two of which were shot down by Ukrainian defenders.
During the night of 14 November, Russian forces launched 19 missiles and 430 attack drones at Ukraine, using Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles as well as Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles.
