Russian forces strike central Sumy with bombs: Casualties reported, including a child

On the morning of September 26, Russian troops launched an airstrike using bombs on the center of Sumy. The attack resulted in fatalities and injuries, including an 11-month-old child, according to Serhii Kryvosheienko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration.
“Russia carried out an airstrike, reportedly with three KAB bombs, on the central part of Sumy. According to preliminary reports, two men were killed,” Kryvosheienko said.
Six people have been injured so far. Among them is an 11-month-old infant, who has been hospitalized. All the victims are receiving the necessary medical care.
The strikes hit two locations: an administrative building, residential high-rises, and a closed café in a park area. Information about the casualties and damage is being verified.

Attacks on Ukraine on September 26
On the night of September 26, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 173 strike drones, launched from seven directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy targets.
The Russians attacked Kyiv and Kharkiv with strike drones. Fires were reported in both cities as a result of the attack, and people were injured in the capital.
The Auchan store in the Lavina Mall in Kyiv was damaged in the attack.
Also this morning, Russia attacked the Cosmonova data center for the second time in 24 hours, damaging the backbone network. This caused disruptions in the company’s services.
Russian troops also struck the Darnytsia pharmaceutical plant in Kyiv.
