Russian forces shift focus toward Ukraine's Toretsk - Ukrainian military

Russian troops are gradually shifting their attack direction from the east toward the Toretsk direction, but the Pokrovsk direction remains one of the hottest spots on the front line, stated Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of forces Khortytsia.
According to Trehubov, despite certain Russian advances to the east, they are still covered by the concept of the Pokrovsk direction.
"Russians are actually moving eastward toward the Toretsk direction, but according to our estimates, this still qualifies as the Pokrovsk direction, at least it's to the east of the city of Pokrovsk. It's about halfway to Kostiantynivka, but in our assessment, it's still considered the Pokrovsk direction," he said.
Hottest frontline areas
The most intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions. Enemy activity also remains high in the Lyman, Kramatorsk, and Toretsk directions, while it is somewhat lower in the Siversk, Kupiansk, and Kharkiv directions.
"What the Russians can build up, they definitely can build up. As of now, it hasn't happened yet, but the potential is certainly there. Some force is being built up," the spokesperson added.
New tactics and Russia's losses
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, Russian daily losses average around 800 personnel, slightly down from the previous level of up to a thousand per day.
Equipment losses include around three to four tanks and approximately ten units of IFVs or other armored vehicles.
However, according to Trehubov, these figures do not fully reflect the situation, as the Russian forces are widely using motorcycles, and such losses are harder to track.
He said that motorcycle assaults are being used by the Russian army almost everywhere, except in areas of urban combat or ruins.
Frontline situation
Over the past 24 hours, 170 combat engagements were recorded along the entire front line. Ukraine's Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy.
Yesterday, Russian forces launched a missile strike using nine missiles and carried out 87 airstrikes, dropping 151 guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.
In addition, they conducted 4,586 shelling attacks, including 115 using multiple launch rocket systems, and deployed 3,068 kamikaze drones.
In total, the losses of the Russian forces amounted to 990 people over the past day. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 2 tanks, 1 armored combat vehicle, 17 artillery systems, 222 operational-tactical UAVs, 9 cruise missiles, and 64 enemy vehicles.
