Russian troops in the Kharkiv direction are regrouping and continuing attempts to advance, the spokesperson of Ukraine’s Joint Forces grouping, Viktor Trehubov, states.

According to him, as of this morning, the situation in the Kharkiv direction remains tense.

“At the moment, we are observing active Russian attempts to regroup and prepare offensives in several sectors, including Velykyi Burluk, Kupiansk, the unofficial Borova axis, and others,” Trehubov said.

Despite recent losses, Russian forces continue their activity and are trying to resume offensive operations.

The spokesperson noted that these are renewed attempts to advance following failed attacks in recent days.

Russia’s spring-summer offensive

As a reminder, analysts from the Institute for the Study of War suggest that Russian forces have likely launched a spring-summer offensive against Ukraine’s “fortress belt” in the Donetsk region. The main pressure is focused on the Lyman direction, which opens the way toward Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

Yesterday, March 21, the commander of Ukraine’s Third Army Corps, Andriy Biletskyi, reported that Russian forces simultaneously attacked across seven axes in the Lyman direction.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia’s spring offensive campaign has already failed.

According to him, Russian troops are currently unable to advance with heavy equipment and are instead attempting infiltration tactics using small groups. He also stressed that Russia shows no intention of ending the war.
