In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian troops are regrouping their units and equipment in preparation for renewed offensive actions in the Orikhiv, Huliaipole, and Prydniprovske directions, according to Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Defense Forces of southern Ukraine, speaking during a national telethon.

According to him, the number of assault actions in the area of responsibility of the Defense Forces was lower than usual over the past 24 hours.

Voloshyn noted that Russian troops are regrouping personnel and equipment, in particular deploying assault groups to forward positions and carrying out engineering work to support offensive operations — including clearing minefields.

The spokesperson also reported that reserves and logistical resources are being moved forward, indicating that Russian forces are preparing to resume active assaults in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions.

According to Voloshyn, Russian forces are attempting to advance near the village of Malynivka in the Huliaipole sector. He added that Russian forces are also relocating personnel to the Prydniprovske direction, where they are likely to attempt renewed assaults in the coming days.

He further noted that in recent days, the intensity of artillery shelling and kamikaze drone attacks against Ukrainian positions and settlements near the front line has remained consistent.

"In addition, over the past few days, we've seen an increase in enemy airstrikes. The enemy has become highly active along the right bank in the Kherson sector, using unguided aerial missiles to strike several settlements," the spokesperson added.

Situation on the front

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the beginning of July 9, a total of 112 combat engagements have already been recorded along the entire front line. Russian forces continue to assault Ukrainian defensive positions.

Specifically, in the Huliaipole sector, the village of Verbove was hit by an airstrike using unguided missiles.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy assault near the village of Novodanylivka. Russian forces also carried out airstrikes on the settlements of Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, and Plavni.

In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian troops made four attempts to advance — all of which were unsuccessful. The village of Odradokamianka was struck by guided aerial bombs.
