Russian forces carried out a record number of assaults in the Pokrovsk direction this week. In addition, the enemy set a record for the number of directions attacked in a single day, said Oleksii Belskyi, spokesperson of the Dnipro Operational-Strategic Group of Forces.

"The most intense situation is on the Pokrovske direction. Overall, this week saw a record number of offensive actions — 64," Belskyi said.

He also noted that yesterday, Ukrainian defenders repelled 49 Russian attacks. However, the Russians set a peculiar record — they attacked along 19 directions in a single day.

"They are looking for weak points in the defense of the Pokrovske-Myrnohrad agglomeration," the Dnipro spokesperson concluded.

Fighting in the Pokrovsk direction

A few weeks ago, Dnipro spokesperson Viktor Trehubov reported that Russian troops outnumber the prewar population of Pokrovsk. According to him, 110,000 Russian soldiers are operating there.

Recently, analysts at ISW released a new front-line report. Experts noted that the Russians have failed to break through on the Pokrovske direction.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that Russia has several priority directions and objectives this fall. These include capturing Pokrovsk and Kupiansk, as well as breaking through in the Zaporizhzhia region.
