Russia is unable to take Pokrovsk under its control. As a result, it has intensified its propaganda and is spreading false claims about the situation in the town, according to the 7th Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.

"The enemy has become bogged down in urban fighting for Pokrovsk and cannot capture the town with weapons alone. So they are trying to ramp up propaganda and disinformation, spreading fabricated claims about allegedly capturing Pokrovsk," the military said.

They noted that the situation in the Pokrovsk area remains difficult. Russian troops are actively attacking the northern part of the town. Meanwhile, Ukrainian defenders are holding the line and stopping the enemy's advance.

In some areas, Russian forces are trying to operate near key logistical routes.

"However, in these zones, the rate at which the enemy is being eliminated is higher than the rate of its movement," the 7th Corps added.

Logistics for Ukrainian forces remain difficult but functional. An operation to expand logistical corridors continues.

Despite intense fighting, Ukrainian defenders managed to rotate several units over the past week.

The military noted that the defense of the Pokrovsk area involves the Air Assault Forces, assault units, Special Operations Forces, Unmanned System Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, and the National Police.

Russian fake reports about Pokrovsk

On December 1, it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin had allegedly visited one of the command posts of the Russian military.

There, he was told that Russian soldiers had captured Pokrovsk and Vovchansk.

Today, December 3, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian General Staff, Major Andriy Kovalov, told RBC-Ukraine that Ukrainian troops continue to hold the northern part of Pokrovsk roughly along the railway line.

At the same time, he noted that active operations to eliminate enemy soldiers are ongoing.
