Russian forces advance in Toretsk and gain foothold on two streets
Russian troops advanced in Toretsk, Donetsk region. In particular, the Russian forces have gained a foothold on two streets, according to Anastasia Bobovnikova, the spokesperson for the Luhansk Operational and Tactical Group.
"The situation remains difficult. The most challenging areas are near Toretsk and New York. Unfortunately, the enemy has advanced slightly there (in Toretsk - ed.) and gained a foothold on two neighboring streets, up to Central Street," she said.
Moreover, according to the spokesperson, the enemy continues attempts to breach the defensive line of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of Chasiv Yar.
"Despite a decrease in assaults there, the enemy is bringing new reinforcement to frontline positions. We believe this is the calm before the storm, and they will intensify their assault operations in this direction," Bobovnikova noted.
