Russian evening strike on Zaporizhzhia results in fatalities and injuries, including children
Two people, including a child, were killed and two others were injured as a result of a Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia carried out by the enemy late last night, reports Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration (RMA).
The official clarified that the shelling was carried out by the enemy around 11:00 PM on Monday, September 2.
"Unfortunately, two people were killed, including an 8-year-old boy," the head of the RMA reported.
Additionally, two more individuals were injured, including a 12-year-old girl. She has been hospitalized and is currently in intensive care.
The official also mentioned the partial destruction of a building due to the Russian strike.
"The blast wave and debris damaged nearby apartment buildings," he added.
What preceded this
An explosion occurred in Zaporizhzhia yesterday evening during an air alert declared for the Zaporizhzhia region.
Shortly before this, the Ukrainian Air Force reported a threat of ballistic strikes by Russia.
Earlier reports also indicated that Zaporizhzhia had been subjected to missile strikes on August 27, when the enemy launched ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
