Russian forces attacked Ukraine's Odesa region with drones overnight, causing several fires and injuring multiple people, according to Odesa regional administration head Oleh Kiper.

"At night, another massive attack by enemy drones on the Odesa region was recorded. Despite the active work of air defense, the air strike caused new damage to civilian and energy facilities," Kiper said.

According to him, fires broke out in several areas at the port and energy infrastructure facilities, and equipment was damaged.

''Six people were injured by falling debris, including two children. All the injured have received the necessary medical assistance," the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration added.

He also emphasized that rescue and emergency services continue working at the sites, eliminating the consequences of yet another Russian strike on the peaceful Odesa region.

Russian attacks on Odesa and the region

On the night of November 24, Russian forces carried out a drone strike on port infrastructure in the Odesa region, damaging equipment and causing a fire on one of the vessels.

The fire on the non-operational vessel was extinguished by rescuers. According to authorities, there were no reports of fatalities or injuries.

Also, on the night of November 23, Russian forces attacked the Odesa region with drones, including certain districts of Odesa. As a result of the strikes, fires broke out at energy infrastructure facilities and in a former industrial building.

The fires were extinguished by firefighters, and there were no casualties.

Additionally, Ukrenergo (Ukraine's national grid operator) CEO Vitaliy Zaychenko stated that the Odesa region faces one of the most difficult electricity supply situations in Ukraine.
