Russian drones strike Sumy region: Photos of consequences revealed

The Russian army carried out a massive drone attack on the territory of the Sumy region overnight on May 29. Several communities were affected by the strike, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reports.
"This night, Russian troops once again attacked civilian facilities in several communities of Sumy region using strike UAVs," Hryhorov stated.
In the Bilopillia community, a civilian was killed as a result of a drone hit. Another person was injured and is in critical condition in the hospital. The Russian attack also destroyed several residential houses.
In the Verkhnya Syrovatka community, civilian infrastructure was damaged. In the Richkivskiv community, a private home burned down after being hit by a drone.
The Nedryhailiv community also suffered damage from enemy drones. Russian forces struck the territory of a local farming enterprise, setting fire to warehouses containing agricultural machinery.
Situation in Sumy region
Recently, Russian forces have intensified their offensive actions and shelling of the border areas of Sumy region. According to the Ukrainian military, Russia aims to create a so-called buffer zone in the region.
Border guards reported active movements of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups and small assault units in the border districts. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is amassing troops near the Sumy direction. According to Zelenskyy, more than 50,000 Russian troops are currently concentrated there.
