Russian drones reportedly enter Moldova during Ukraine attack
On the morning of Sunday, November 17, Russia carried out a massive strike on Ukraine using missiles and drones. Several of these UAVs may have violated Moldova's airspace, according to the government’s Telegram channel, Prima Sursă.
According to the publication, competent authorities were tracking the Russian attack across Ukraine. Border patrols in Valea Perjei, Tudora, Crocmaz and Olănești recorded explosions in areas adjacent to Moldova.
"In Larga, in the Briceni district, a missile was spotted on the Ukrainian side, and a resident of Groznița reported seeing two flying objects resembling drones at an altitude of about 100 meters. They disappeared from sight above Rotunda and Halahora de Sus," the report states.
At the same time, Moldova's government noted that the country's radars did not detect any UAVs. They also pointed out that such drones are launched at low altitudes to avoid detection by the Ministry of Defense's radars.
"No falling aircraft were detected on Moldova's territory, so we urge everyone to remain calm. If you notice any suspicious objects or flying vehicles, immediately report them to the relevant authorities," the government called.
It is worth noting that during the massive strike on November 17, the Ukrainian Air Force identified 210 enemy targets — 120 missiles and 90 drones.
As of 12:00, air defense forces had shot down 144 aerial targets, including 102 missiles and 42 drones.
