Russian forces today, February 6, attacked an evacuation vehicle with drones in Beryslav. One man was killed in the strike, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
"In Beryslav, Russian forces attacked an evacuation vehicle with drones. Volunteers who were rescuing people from deadly danger came under enemy fire. Their vehicle burned down after being hit by the drones," Prokudin wrote.
He said the volunteers and four residents were evacuated to a safer community. Three people were injured and are currently under medical supervision.
"Unfortunately, as a result of the drone strike on the vehicle, a man born in 1982 sustained fatal injuries," Prokudin added.
According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, volunteers and residents had been unable to leave since February 4 due to the constant threat of attacks. They were rescued only today thanks to the efforts of Ukrainian defenders.
Prokudin warned that when residents of dangerous areas delay evacuation, they put not only themselves but also those who later come to rescue them at deadly risk.
Attack on rescuers
Earlier, in Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region, Russian forces attacked a fire engine with an FPV drone while it was responding to a call to extinguish a fire.
As a result of the targeted strike, four State Emergency Service personnel were wounded and hospitalized.
