Russian drones drop explosives near railway tracks in Rivne region: Footage

In the Rivne region, two anti-tank mines were found near the railway tracks, dropped by enemy drones during recent air raid alerts, according to the Rivne Regional Police.
The incident occurred on January 18 at one of the region’s railway stations. A station employee noticed suspicious objects near the tracks while inspecting the area, after which explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) specialists were called to the scene.
The specialists had to walk about three kilometers along the railway line to reach the site where the shells were found.
During the inspection, police identified the objects as two PTM-3 anti-tank mines. These munitions are equipped with magnetic target sensors that react to any change in the magnetic field, making transportation extremely dangerous.
The EOD team decided to destroy the mines on site through a controlled detonation. According to preliminary information, the munitions had been dropped by Russian kamikaze drones of the Shahed type during an attack on the region.
Currently, investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine have launched a pre-trial investigation.

A similar incident previously occurred in the Zhytomyr region, where EOD specialists also neutralized PTM-3 anti-tank mines. At that time, enemy drones dropped cluster munitions on the territory of one of the settlements.
Experts emphasize that such mines are extremely dangerous due to their sensitive sensors, which is why their destruction is usually carried out only at the site where they are found.
