According to Semenikhin, the Shahed strike occurred precisely when children were playing near the fountain close to the cinema.
This is not the first atrocity committed in Konotop. Recently, Russia struck a railway depot in the city, killing one person. Railway workers were injured.
Another attack had left the city without electricity and water. Russians struck an infrastructure facility in Konotop.
