Russian drone attack sparks fire in Mykolaiv

In the early hours of November 3, Mykolaiv came under attack from Russian drones, sparking a fire in the city. Emergency services are working at the scene, according to Mykolaiv regional governor Vitalii Kim.
In the early hours of November 3, Russian Shahed drones struck Mykolaiv, causing a fire in the city. "As a result of the Shahed attack, a fire broke out in the city. All emergency services are working," regional governor Vitalii Kim reported at 03:32 AM Kyiv time.
Around 2:30 AM Kyiv time, Kim had warned of drone movement from the south toward Mykolaiv. The Ukrainian Air Force also reported a drone threat south of the city, moving north around 3:00 AM Kyiv time. The air raid alert across Mykolaiv region was issued at 02:03 AM Kyiv time, and by 03:56 AM Kyiv time, Kim again warned residents of renewed air danger and a ballistic missile threat.
Previous attacks on Mykolaiv
On November 1, Russian forces hit Mykolaiv with a ballistic missile strike. Explosions were heard in the city, followed by reports of impacts and casualties. The strike was carried out with an Iskander-M missile equipped with a cluster warhead, damaging a WOG gas station and several vehicles.
Up to 20 people were injured, including two children, and one man was killed, according to Ukraine’s National Police.
Earlier, on October 16, Russian forces for the first time since the start of the war used guided aerial bombs against Mykolaiv. The munition reportedly traveled more than 150 kilometers at speeds of up to 500 km/h. No casualties were reported in that attack, and specialists worked on-site to identify the type of ammunition used and assess the damage.
