On the night of August 5, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine using Shahed attack drones. The attack was launched from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk in Russia, according to the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.

Radio engineering troops of the Ukrainian Air Force promptly detected and escorted 24 Russian drones.

"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, all the drones were successfully destroyed by mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile units, and electronic warfare equipment of the Ukrainian Air Force," Oleshchuk says.

The attack covered several regions of Ukraine, including Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava and Dnipro regions.
