Russian drone attack on Kharkiv leaves dead, injured, and homes in flames

In Kharkiv, Russian drones struck a residential building. Due to the attack, three people were killed, including a child, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine report.
According to Syniehubov, the enemy hit a five-story residential apartment building with four Geran-2 type drones.
“Due to the strike, three people were killed, among them a 1.5-year-old girl whose body was pulled from under the rubble. Seventeen people sustained injuries of varying severity, some of whom were hospitalized,” Syniehubov said.
The Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration added that fires broke out in apartments on the first, third, and fifth floors. Collapses and destruction of floor structures were recorded.
In total, six residential buildings and 15 cars were damaged.
Syniehubov also noted that in the targeted Industrialnyi district, two enemy Geran-2 drones hit the ground.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the fire in the struck building covered an area of 900 m². Among the 17 injured were six children.
"During emergency rescue operations, a young woman and a man were successfully freed alive from under the rubble. There is information about other people under the debris. The work continues," the rescuers said.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine also published its own photos of the aftermath of the enemy attack.
Drone attack on Kharkiv
On the morning of August 18, at around 05:00 a.m. local time, Russian terrorists shelled Kharkiv with Shahed drones. Four explosions sounded in the city.
One of the drones hit a residential building, and a fire broke out at the site of the strike.
More than ten people were injured in the shelling, and a small child was killed.
