Russian drone attack hits Kyiv: Rescuers reveal damage, two dead

In Kyiv, following the second wave of cruise missile strikes, a large column of smoke is rising. The death toll has risen to two, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"In the Sviatoshynskyi district, preliminary reports indicate two fatalities - a young woman and a child under 1 year old," the mayor said.

After the cruise missile strikes on the city, a thick column of black smoke is rising over Kyiv.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that 18 people were injured in Kyiv.

In the Sviatoshynskyi district, several multi-story buildings were damaged.

"In one nine-story building, a fire broke out from the 6th to the 9th floor with partial collapse of the ceilings; in another, the upper floors caught fire; in a third, there was a fire on the 3rd floor. A hangar and several vehicles were also destroyed," the statement said.

In the Darnytskyi district, a four-story residential building was hit - a fire broke out on two floors, and there was partial structural collapse.

The fires have been localized, and emergency rescue operations are ongoing.

Rescuers also showed the aftermath of enemy drone strikes on multi-story buildings.
