Russian drone attack caused part of power to go out in Cherkasy
Cherkasy and the surrounding region experienced an enemy airstrike overnight, involving the use of drones. As a result of the Russian shelling, there have been partial power outages, including in the regional center, states the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets.
The official shared that the critical infrastructure of the Cherkasy region was targeted by the Russian forces.
He also mentioned that the consequences of the drone strike are still being clarified.
"Currently, some subscribers are without power, including in the regional center. All services are operational," the head of the Regional Military Administration reported.
The administration leader added that more information about the impact of the Shahed drone attack will be released later.
It should be noted that local Cherkasy communities reported explosions heard around 01:15 and later. At that time, enemy strike drones were detected over the region.
Nighttime Shahed drone attack
On the evening of January 24, the launch of several groups of kamikaze drones by Russian forces toward Ukraine was recorded, initiating another air attack. Air raid alerts were announced in several regions due to the threat of Shahed strikes.
It was also reported that explosions were heard in Kyiv during the night of January 25 amidst the enemy's drone attack.
Later, it became known that the Shahed attack caused damage to a residential apartment building in two districts of the Kyiv region and led to a fire at an industrial enterprise. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
