According to reports from OSINT channels, the VNIIR-Progress plant was hit by unknown rockets. It is known that this enterprise manufactures satellite GNSS receivers and antennas for Glonass, GPS, and Galileo systems, as well as Kometa modules used in Shahed kamikaze drones, Iskander-M missiles, and Kalibr missiles.

Shortly after the attack, the governor of the region, Oleg Nikolaev, confirmed that Cheboksary had been hit by unknown rockets. According to him, the number of damaged infrastructure facilities is being clarified.

What else is known

This is far from the first attack on VNIIR-Progress. One of the previous attacks occurred on the night of May 5. At that time, alarm signals sounded for the first time in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, which is 2,000 km from the border with Ukraine.

The plant was also targeted in November 2025 and again in the summer. Moreover, after the summer attack, the enterprise temporarily halted production.
