Russian aviation launches attacks in several directions - General Staff
The Russian forces continue to advance along the entire front line in Ukraine, this time using aviation, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the General Staff, since the beginning of the day, the total number of enemy attacks along the entire frontline has increased to 69. The enemy continues to use aircraft and attack in several directions. Ukrainian defenders are holding the line.
Situation at the frontlines
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy used 20 guided aerial bombs from the territory of the Russian Federation (Belgorod and Shebekino, Belgorod region). The areas of Vovchansk, Neskuchne, and Bilyi Kolodiaz came under fire. There have been no enemy assault actions so far.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy used unguided aerial missiles in the area of Stelmakhivka, and combat actions are ongoing in the area of Miasozharivka.
According to preliminary information, the enemy lost 55 soldiers in action in the Lyman direction, including two killed and one wounded. Ukrainian defenders damaged one vehicle and an armored personnel carrier. In total, the enemy attempted to attack in the direction nine times.
In the Siversk direction, activity increased in the area of Verkhnekamianske. Four firefights took place there during the day.
Eight combat engagements are currently ongoing in the Pokrovsk direction, including in the vicinity of Prohres. The direction remains one of the hottest. The enemy uses aviation. Today, Novoselivka Persha, Prohres, and Karlivka were attacked with aerial bombs. In the Kurakhove direction, Kostiantynivka came under fire.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy has significantly intensified its activity, with combat in the areas of Urozhaine and Staromaiorske. The total number of enemy attacks increased to nine over the last day.
The number of new enemy attempts to attack increased in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi directions.
The situation did not change significantly in the rest of the directions.
Russia's new offensive
Since the beginning of May, Russia has become more active along the entire front line. The main direction of Russia's offensive is currently the Kharkiv region. The Russian forces have not achieved significant success there during the month.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that the most active direction today was Pokrovsk. The number of enemy attacks there increased to 26.
