Southern Odesa region and the city of Odesa itself are regularly targeted by Russian strikes on civilian and energy infrastructure.
On the night of August 9, the Russians launched a combined strike on Odesa with drones and ballistic missiles. Energy facilities were seriously damaged, leaving part of the city without power and water, and causing the temporary suspension of electric transit services.
