Russian attack on Ukraine: air defense downs all Shahed drones
Russia launched missiles and Iranian-made kamikaze drones at Ukraine overnight on July 27, according to reports by the Ukrainian Air Force.
During the night, the occupying forces fired two Kalibr missiles from a submarine in the Black Sea, targeting port infrastructure in the Odesa region. Despite efforts to intercept them, the missiles could not be stopped by Ukrainian air defense, resulting in damage to the port facilities.
Additionally, Russian forces launched 8 Shahed drones from the southeastern direction, all of which were successfully shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces in the Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.
The nighttime attack led to air raid sirens sounding in southern and central regions, as military authorities warned of the threat of missile and drone strikes. In Khmelnytskyi, explosions were heard due to the work of the air defense systems.
The Odesa region witnessed a missile strike on the port infrastructure, resulting in significant damage to one of the cargo terminals and the unfortunate loss of a security guard due to the missile strike.
