Bombing of Sumy
Russian forces launched a missile strike on the center of Sumy this afternoon. Initially, local authorities reported 28 injured, but the number has since increased.
The Russian army targeted a densely populated area of the city. The attack damaged a school and several apartment buildings.
Rescuers reported that multiple fires broke out due to the strike. They also evacuated 40 children and 16 adults.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, pointed out that this attack occurred amid Russia's empty claims about peace. He called on the West to pressure Russia to continue diplomatic efforts.
