Russia massively strikes Sumy city center: High-rise buildings and school hit, many wounded

On the afternoon of March 24, Russian troops launched a missile attack on the center of Sumy. As a result of the Russian attack, high-rise buildings and a school were damaged, and there were wounded, says Volodymyr Artiukh, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
“Russia launched a missile attack on the city center. Several high-rise buildings and a school were damaged. The children were in a protective structure, they are being evacuated now, all are alive,” said Artiukh.
According to him, the rescue services are working to eliminate the consequences and extinguish the fires. They are also going door-to-door to assist the affected people.
According to the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, the Russians attacked the residential sector and infrastructure facilities of the city, including children's hospitals.
Currently, 24 adults and 4 children are known to be wounded. All emergency services are working at the scene.

On the night of March 24, Russians launched 147 attack drones at Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 97 Russia Shaheds. Another 25 Russian imitator drones were lost in the area.
In particular, a soldier was wounded in the Kyiv region as a result of the Russian strikes.
