The death toll from Russia's attack on Kyiv has risen to 11, while another 46 people have been injured. Destruction and damage have been reported in several districts across the capital, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko.

"According to medics, the number of people killed in the enemy's overnight attack on Kyiv has reached 11. One of them was an injured man who died in the hospital this morning," the mayor said.

According to Klitschko, a total of 46 people have been injured. Twenty-seven people, including three children, have been hospitalized.

Klitschko confirmed that destruction and damage had been recorded in four districts of the capital. The Podilskyi district suffered the most severe damage. In one residential building, apartments from the fifth through the ninth floors were destroyed.

Russian forces also struck residential high-rise buildings in the Darnytskyi district.

The attack sparked a fire in a 25-story residential building, destroying apartments from the second through the fifth floors. In addition, apartments caught fire in another 30-story residential complex after falling debris hit the building.

Emergency responders and medics are working at the strike sites. The aftermath of the attack is also being dealt with in the Obolonskyi and Holosiivskyi districts.
