Russian attack hits Kyiv railways, train delays reported

On the night of July 4, the Russian army relentlessly attacked Kyiv with drones and ballistic missiles. As a result of the enemy shelling, railway infrastructure was damaged, the Ukrainian railway company Ukrzaliznytsia reports.
Due to the enemy shelling of Kyiv, damage to the railway infrastructure within the city has been recorded.
At the moment, the passenger trains heading west are traveling on a diverted route through Vyshneve and Darnytsia, which is causing delays of up to 2 hours.
Kyiv City Express is currently operating only along the northern semi-ring Sviatoshyn - Pochaina - Darnytsia (in both directions). Due to overlapping with passenger trains, schedule deviations are possible.
Ukrzaliznytsia apologized for all the forced changes and reported that restoration work is already in full swing. In the meantime, reserve diesel locomotives will transport trains within the capital once traffic on the Sviatoshyn – Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi section is restored.
Russian attack on Kyiv
An air raid alert in Kyiv was announced at 5:15 p.m. local time due to the threat of drone attacks. It lasted until 7:24 p.m., but at 8:00 p.m. sirens sounded again.
On the night of July 4, a series of powerful explosions thundered in Kyiv. The capital was under a combined attack by Russian terrorists: they struck with ballistic missiles and drones.
19 residents of Kyiv were injured due to the enemy's night attack on the city. Five people are receiving outpatient care and 14 were hospitalized.
