Late in the evening on February 14, Russian units launched a drone attack on the border area of the Chernihiv region. As a result of the strike, the building of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District State Administration was destroyed, according to a Facebook post by the head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District Military Administration, Oleksandr Seliverstov.

“As a result of a strike by a Geran-type attack UAV, the building of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District State Administration was practically destroyed,” Seliverstov wrote.

He emphasized that the Russians are deliberately striking civilian and administrative infrastructure to intimidate people and destabilize life in border communities.

According to the head of the district administration, information about casualties is currently being clarified.

Attack on the Chernihiv region

Russian forces have been regularly attacking the Chernihiv region with drones and other weapons.

In particular, on the night of February 8, the occupiers struck the region’s railway infrastructure, forcing Ukrzaliznytsia to cancel several train services.

We also reported that from the night of January 24–25, the region came under intense shelling by Russia. Authorities recorded 41 attacks and 70 explosions across various parts of the region. During the attack, a gas storage hangar caught fire, and five cargo vehicles were damaged.

Additionally, as a result of a combined Russian attack on the night of January 24, hundreds of thousands of people in the region were left without power. The enemy damaged a key energy facility in the Nizhyn district.
