Russian forces attempted to send assault troops toward the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region. However, they were destroyed by Ukrainian forces, according to Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council.

"For the sake of propaganda, the Russians tried to send assault troops to the administrative border of the Dnipropetrovsk region, to the kill zone. They were destroyed," Kovalenko stated.

Russia is trying to reach the Dnipropetrovsk administrative border

Fighting has intensified in recent months around Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region. The town is located near the administrative border with Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Representatives of Ukraine's Defense Forces note that if the Russian forces succeed, this will allow them to advance in several directions. That's why the enemy is trying to break through Ukrainian defenses and capture logistical routes.

Back in May, reports indicated that Russian troops continued to attack in the Donetsk region, aiming to break through to the Dnipropetrovsk border. Russian forces reportedly planned to achieve this by May 9, but failed.
