Russian forces are reducing their use of Kalibr missiles due to logistical challenges, attempting to replace them with more efficient types of missiles, states the d of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk.

"Most likely, there are indeed a complex of reasons. For the Russians, it is now problematic both to deliver missiles and to service the missile installations that launch the Kalibrs, and to reload with Kalibrs, as all this logistics and infrastructure remains in the Sevastopol bays," Humeniuk noted.

According to her, Russian missile carriers currently have difficulty reaching the temporarily occupied Crimea, as the trips are associated with an increased threat of attacks by surface drones. That is why the Russians are also actively strengthening their base in Novorossiysk with additional earthen barriers.

What preceded this

Yesterday, March 31, the Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the Russian fleet had been accumulating cruise missiles Kalibr. Presumably, the enemy may use them to strike Ukraine. According to him, Russia has decided to use the X-101 cruise missiles instead of the Kalibrs, as they are more efficient.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that Russia was having problems with the Kalibr cruise missiles. Perhaps this is related to the successful strikes by Ukrainian military forces in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
