Russian troops today, on April 22, struck the city of Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region. As a result of the attack, a married couple was killed, and another man died, while two others were wounded, according to the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office and the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin.

Law enforcement officials reported that today, Russian occupation forces struck Myrnohrad twice. In the morning, the Russian army targeted the private sector.

"As a result of the strike, a 72-year-old local man sustained injuries incompatible with life. The type of weapon used is being determined," the regional prosecutor's office stated.

Later, around 12:30 PM Kyiv time, Russian forces used drones to attack the civilian population of Myrnohrad.

"A hostile FPV drone hit a vehicle at the entrance to the city. As a result of the attack, a woman and a man, aged 63 and 75, were killed," the law enforcement officers noted.

Additionally, two people were injured in the city center and were both hospitalized, reported Vadym Filashkin.

Moreover, a private house and a car were damaged in the settlement. The prosecutor's office is documenting the consequences of the attacks and has initiated an investigation into Russia's war crimes.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Pokrovsk District Prosecutor's Office, pre-trial investigations have been initiated in criminal proceedings for the commission of war crimes (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the prosecutor's office added.

Attacks on Donetsk region

Russian forces continue to actively attack settlements in the Donetsk region, claiming the lives of civilians.

On April 19, the Russian army carried out 10 airstrikes on Kostiantynivka, damaging vital infrastructure, including the DTEK power grid. Two people were killed, and their bodies were retrieved by rescuers only the following day.

Earlier, on April 15, Russian troops attacked Sloviansk in Donetsk region using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). As a result of the attack, there was damage in the industrial zone, and one person was injured.

Also, on March 13, Russian forces struck Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk. Eight people were injured, including a teenager. In Kostiantynivka, Russian forces hit the area with a Smerch multiple rocket launcher (MRLS), injuring two people.
