Georgian Legion's commander reveals Russia's strengths and weaknesses
The Russian army does not evolve and cannot fight any civilized army, only civilian populations. However, underestimating the occupiers is not advisable, the head of the Georgian Legion, Mamuka Mamulashvili, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
"The Russian army does not evolve, primarily from a professional point of view. They did not progress, although the weaponry developed for 70 years in the Soviet Union is still present. They use it against Ukraine, as they did against Georgia," he believes.
Furthermore, according to Mamulashvili, Russia cannot fight any civilized army; it has always waged war against civilian populations.
"They intimidated, raped, tortured, and killed. That's the style of the Russian army. There were professionals in the Russian army, but they were gone in the first three months of the war. Now we are dealing with quantity," he says.
At the same time, according to the head of the Georgian Legion, underestimating the enemy is not advisable.
"Although, as a professional military person, I can say that in terms of quality, the Ukrainian army far surpasses the Russian one. And we faced such a war - quality against quantity. Russia has always exceeded in numbers and barbarism during wars. What has always distinguished Russia is the intimidation of the civilian population and terrorist acts. They do it now using ballistic missiles," Mamulashvili points out.
