Russian army's recovery estimated to take up to decade: British intelligence
Russia's losses in the war against Ukraine have increased this year. Moscow will need up to 10 years to restore a professional army, reports the Ministry of Defense of the UK on Twitter.
According to British intelligence, in 2023, the average daily losses for Russia, both in terms of killed and wounded, have increased to almost 300 per day. This is more than in 2022.
British intelligence, citing the Ukrainian side, notes that Russia's losses indicate the degradation of Russian forces and their transformation into a "mass army" of lower quality after a "partial mobilization" in September of the previous year.
"It will likely take Russia five to ten years to rebuild a cohort of highly trained and experienced military units," states the intelligence.
In Britain, it is assumed that the current rate of Russian losses will persist into 2024, and by 2025, Russia's losses in killed and wounded will exceed half a million. British intelligence emphasizes that during the 9 years of the war in Afghanistan, the Soviet Union lost approximately 70,000 military personnel.
Losses of the Russian army in Ukraine
The Russian Ministry of Defense conceals the losses of its troops in the war of aggression against Ukraine. However, opposition Russian media have compiled a list of over 40,000 occupiers who have died in the war in Ukraine. According to their data, in the last two weeks of the war with Ukraine, five senior Russian officers have been killed.
At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that over 358,000 occupiers have been eliminated. In the last 24 hours alone, our fighters have destroyed about 750 Russians.
