Units of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence (HUR), in coordination with the Defense Forces of Ukraine, stopped Russia's offensive toward Zaporizhzhia within their area of responsibility, according to HUR.

For three months, the soldiers of the Tymur Special Unit of the Defense Intelligence have been implementing a comprehensive defensive operation in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

The goal of the intelligence officers is to disrupt the enemy’s offensive plans and prevent its advance toward the regional center.

During active operations, HUR special forces eliminated more than 300 Russians killed and wounded, and took another 39 Russian servicemen prisoner.

“Precise strikes by drones and artillery allow military intelligence officers to systematically limit the logistics capabilities of the Muscovites. Due to a lack of supplies, the Russians are increasingly refusing to carry out assault actions in that direction,” HUR said.

The intelligence officers noted that the actions of the special forces made it possible to stabilize the defense on lines favorable for Ukrainian defenders and secure Zaporizhzhia.

The operation is being carried out by the units Chimera, RDK, Brotherhood, Aratta, Siberian Battalion, Stugna, First Line, 1514, Paragon, BDK, Guardians of the Darkness, Raven group, Art Division and the 6th Special Actions Detachment, which are part of the Tymur Special Unit of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in the south

In mid-February, Russian war propagandists spread information about an alleged counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the border of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

At the same time, the Southern Defense Forces noted that the real situation in this section of the front does not correspond to such statements.

On February 20, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported the deoccupation of approximately 300 square kilometers of territory in the south.

Later, it became known about active actions by the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Oleksandrivka direction aimed at restraining the advance of Russian forces.

And on February 23, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that during offensive operations in the south, Ukrainian troops liberated eight settlements and about 400 square kilometers of territory.

Recently, special forces of the HUR carried out a series of offensive actions in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

Ukrainian soldiers regained control over important positions, improved the tactical situation in the sector of the front, and destroyed the enemy’s forward assault groups.

Also within the operation, Ukrainian fighters struck concentrations of Russian manpower and equipment, eliminated dozens of Russian servicemen, and established fire control over key enemy logistics routes.
