Russia won in Georgia and is on the way to Moldova - Zelenskyy
Russia once won in Georgia to change the country’s political course. Now it plans to do the same with Moldova if the West does not stop its dialogues about red lines, says Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with representatives of leading media of Northern Europe.
According to the President, Russia wants to restore the Soviet Union. Today, it is trying to implement its plan without weapons; however, it all began with weapons in Georgia. Ultimately, Russia "won" after occupying part of the country and changing its policies, as well as the government, which now holds a pro-Russian position.
"No sanctions against Putin, a lot of Russians are in Georgia. Their choice is friendship with Russia. Their choice is not to go to the EU. They changed their position. Russia won today. They took Georgia's freedom away. This is about Georgia. As for Moldova, they are on the way. You will see, Russia is on the way. They want to do the same and they will do if the West does not stop the dialogues about crossing the red lines," Zelenskyy noted.
The President added that the West will lose Moldova in a few years if it continues today’s rhetoric.
"And Ukraine… We are bigger. This is the difference between us and Georgia; we are much bigger. We have a bigger population, more men who did not want to be Russians. That’s it," he emphasized.
Elections in Moldova
During the elections, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova accused Russia of deliberately creating lines at polling stations.
Prior to this, Deputy Prime Minister Kristina Gerasimova stated that the Russian Federation is also conducting a large-scale campaign to destabilize the political situation in the country. According to her, Moscow allocated about 100 million euros to disrupt the presidential elections and the referendum.
