Russia uses up to 3,500 aerial bombs against Ukraine each month - Zelenskyy
Russia launches up to 3,500 guided aerial bombs in Ukraine per month. The Russians are bombing Ukrainians like Hitler did during World War II, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Russia uses 3,200-3,500 GABs per month - these are guided aerial bombs. And this is really a big problem for us. They use GABs exclusively against civilians and civilian infrastructure. This is also very important for people to understand. When they hit with drones and missiles, and they hit and talk about military targets, it is a lie. They used thousands of these GABs, these bombs, specifically to make people afraid and people run away,” Zelenskyy said.
According to the president, Russians are massively using aerial bombs against civilians to occupy territories, as Hitler did during World War II.
Zelenskyy also noted that the Russian operation to capture Kharkiv had failed, and the Ukrainian military had stabilized the situation. He added that waiting for help from the United States for eight months was difficult.
"People here can understand roughly how strong the Russian army is. And it's clear that for eight months without this package, they could not capture the city they wanted to capture. And this was their operation... I am very pleased with yesterday's meetings and with President Biden in particular, we discussed the timing of deliveries of certain items and general support,” he added.
Situation at front
The situation at the front has escalated in recent months. Russian troops are trying to advance in the Donetsk region, attacking in several directions at once.
On May 10, they also launched an offensive north of the Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian military says they have stopped the enemy's offensive, while the Russians are bogged down in street fighting in Vovchansk.
But Russia is constantly shelling the frontline regions. They are dropping guided aerial bombs on the civilian population.
