Russian forces have begun using Shahed drones to carry FPV drones. This has already been confirmed, according to Ukrainian Defense Ministry adviser Serhii Beskrestnov (callsign “Flash”).

In his post, Flash referred to a recent warning he issued, noting that factory mounts for carrying FPV drones on Molniya and Gerber drones were a bad sign. There are now confirmed cases.
“Today I have the first video confirmation of FPV being carried on a Shahed. I already know that the Shahed can carry two FPV drones,” the message said.

Against this backdrop, the defense ministry adviser urged all air-defense drone crews to watch for possible FPV attachments on Shahed drones.
“I ask all units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to take note of the new risks,” Flash emphasized.
What’s happening in Russia
In September 2025, it was reported that wreckage from one of the Shahed drones revealed, for the first time, equipment that enables conversion to an FPV drone format.
Recently, it was also revealed that Russia’s military technology sector has begun industrial production of new drone munitions. This shows that the enemy is attempting to build a stable supply chain and standardize its armaments.
