The Russian army took advantage of the so-called Easter ceasefire to set up routes for the passage of its heavy equipment in Donetsk region, according to the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave.

As the military reports, the Russians in Donetsk region are actively laying routes for equipment during the Easter ceasefire.

The point is that on April 9, the soldiers of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave destroyed a KRVD complex – an installation for deploying temporary roads based on a KAMAZ. At that time, this destroyed complex blocked passage over the Chornyi Zherebets River in Donetsk region, thus making it impossible for the Russians to conduct assault actions using armored vehicles.

Therefore, the occupiers decided to use the time of the Easter ceasefire to fix the situation.

"Today, April 20, the Russians are trying to clear the crossing of the remains of the destroyed equipment. For this, they involved more than ten soldiers and a specialized vehicle. Aerial reconnaissance of the 66th Brigade continues to closely monitor the occupiers!" – reported the brigade named after Mstyslav the Brave.

Also, the Ukrainian military noted the intensification of assault actions by infantry on the position of one of the brigade’s battalions in Donetsk region.

Easter ceasefire

Let us recall that yesterday the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced an "Easter ceasefire." According to him, it is in effect from 18:00 on April 19 until 00:00 on April 21.

Putin also stated that he had given the order to cease all combat actions.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to the president that in the period between 6:00 PM yesterday and 00:00 AM today, there were 387 shellings and 19 assault actions by the Russian army. The Russians used drones 290 times.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that either Putin does not fully control his army, or the situation proves that they in Russia have no goal of truly moving toward ending the war and only need favorable PR in the media.

"Well, at least there were no air raid alarms," he said.
