Russia used Kalibr missiles with cluster munitions in strike against Ukraine – Zelenskyy
Russia used Kalibr missiles with cluster munitions in a massive attack on Ukraine on November 28. They seriously complicate the work to eliminate the consequences, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“In several regions, strikes by Kalibr with cluster munitions were recorded, and they targeted civilian infrastructure,” he said.
These cluster munitions make it much more difficult for rescuers and power engineers to eliminate the consequences of the strike, “and this is a very despicable escalation of Russian terrorist tactics.”
Currently, the necessary agencies have been deployed in all areas where it is needed, power engineers and all services are working as hard as possible to return life to normal, and Points of Invincibility have been deployed to help people.
Ukraine needs air defense systems
Each such attack, according to the president, proves that air defense systems are needed now in Ukraine, where they save lives, not at storage bases.
“This is especially important in the winter when we have to protect our infrastructure from targeted Russian attacks. We are constantly working with partners to have more strength for defense, and timely delivery now and full implementation of agreements, particularly on air defense, is what is most needed,” Zelenskyy added.
Russia's massive attack on Ukraine
Russian troops attacked Ukraine's energy sector for the eleventh time since the beginning of the year. This is the second attack on energy facilities in November alone.
In total, since the evening of November 27, they have launched 188 drones and missiles at Ukraine. Air defense managed to shoot down more than half of the enemy targets.
There were hits on energy facilities. Half a million customers in the Lviv region lost power. The attack forced emergency blackouts in many regions.
