Lutsk experienced the largest overnight attack since the beginning of the full-scale war. The city was attacked by dozens of drones and five missiles, according to the mayor of Lutsk, Ihor Polishchuk.

The city was attacked with:

  • about 50 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Shahed and other types;
  • four Kinzhal missiles;
  • one cruise missile.

During the attack, one enterprise was damaged, where a fire broke out due to the fall of debris from an enemy air target.

"We also have damage on the territory of one of the garage cooperatives. One garage was destroyed. Four are on fire. We thank the rescuers. At the moment, all the fires are localized," he said.

The mayor noted that there were no casualties as a result of the shelling.

Attack on Ukraine on the night of July 9

On the night of July 9, Russia carried out one of the largest combined strikes on the territory of Ukraine, using a total of 741 air attack vehicles. Of these, the bulk were 728 Shahed attack drones and imitator drones. The Russians also used seven Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles and six Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles.

According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), air defense neutralized 718 targets.

According to Yurii Ihnat, the head of communications of the Ukrainian Air Force, one of the main targets for the enemy was the airfield.
