Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of November 5

Over the past day, there have been 82 military clashes. In total, the enemy launched 7 missile and 24 aerial strikes, and conducted 64 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launcher systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population as a result of Russian terrorist attacks. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged and destroyed.

Aerial strikes were carried out in the following areas:

• Serebryanske Forest in the Luhansk region.
• Bila Hora, Katerynivka, Berdychiv, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region.
• Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
• Respublikanets, Chervony Mayak, Beryslav, Tyahynka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, Mykilske, Naddniprianske in the Kherson region.
• Ochakiv in the Mykolaiv region.

Over 100 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Frontline situation

The operational situation remains largely unchanged in the Volyn and Polissia directions.

In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to critical directions, and increases the density of mine and explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted storming actions near Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region, where our defenders repelled about 10 enemy attacks.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful storming actions in Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Spirne in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 4 enemy attacks here.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions near Khromove, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka, where our defenders repelled about 10 enemy attacks. At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue storming actions south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment and consolidating on achieved positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, with aviation support, the enemy continues its efforts to encircle Avdiivka. Our troops continue to hold the defense sturdily and inflict significant losses on the enemy. Ukrainian defenders repelled over 20 enemy attacks in Stepove, Severne, Avdiivka, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka direction, the occupiers conducted unsuccessful storming actions in Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled over 20 enemy attacks here.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the aggressor conducted unsuccessful storming actions in the area of the populated place Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive (storming) actions.

Advancement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment and exhausting the enemy along the entire frontline.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian defenders are engaged in counter-battery combat and deliver fire strikes on the enemy's rear areas.

Enemy losses

During the past day, the Ukrainian defense aviation launched 3 strikes on the areas of enemy personnel concentration, weaponry, and military equipment, and 1 strike on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile system.

The missile forces units damaged one enemy artillery piece.
