Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 27

Ukrainian forces continue to defend in the east and south, conducting offensive operations in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. In the past day, there have been nearly 70 combat clashes, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
In the past day, the enemy carried out 1 missile strike and 18 aerial attacks, as well as 35 rocket artillery attacks on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements.
Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged. Additionally, Russian occupiers conducted another aerial strike using UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type.
Aerial strikes targeted settlements in the Donetsk region, including Arkhanhelske, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Staromaiorske, as well as Odradokamyanka, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Tiagynka, and Ivanivka in the Kherson region.
Over 80 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "North" in the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, actively conducting sabotage activities to prevent the redeployment of our forces to critical directions. They are increasing the density of mines and explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "Khortytsia" in the Kupiansk direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful storming operations in the vicinity of the settlements Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy did not carry out offensive actions and continues troop reorganization.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 5 enemy attacks in the areas of Bohdanivka and Khromove in the Donetsk region. The enemy also attempted to regain lost positions near Klishchiivka and Andriivka, where our defenders repelled 10 attacks.
In turn, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment, and consolidating their positions.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "Tavria" in the Avdiivka direction, the enemy does not cease attempts to encircle Avdiivka, actively using aviation, but our soldiers hold the defense firmly and inflict significant losses on the occupiers.
The enemy's offensive actions in the areas of Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, and Severne in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful, and over 20 attacks were repelled.
In the Maryinka direction, the invaders conducted unsuccessful storming operations in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 18 enemy attacks here.
In the Shakhtarsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy maintains a military presence and conducts troop reorganization.
At the same time, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses on the occupying forces in personnel and equipment and wearing down the enemy along the entire front line.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "Odesa" in the Kherson direction, our defenders engage in counter-battery warfare, delivering fire strikes on the enemy's rear positions.
Enemy losses
In the past day, the defense forces' aviation struck the area of enemy personnel concentration and another strike targeted the enemy's anti-aircraft missile complex.
Missile units struck the area of enemy personnel concentration, weapons, military equipment, and two artillery systems of the enemy.
