Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 11
Ukrainian forces are advancing in the directions of Melitopol and Bakhmut. Over the past day, there have been 108 combat clashes. The defense forces destroyed a Russian Su-25 fighter jet, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
During the past day, the Russian Federation launched a strike with a S-300 surface-to-air missile at civilian buildings in the populated area of Velykyi Burluk in the Kharkiv region. Additionally, occupiers attacked the southern regions of our state with UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type, most of which were destroyed by our air defense.
In total, the enemy carried out 2 missile and 76 aviation strikes, as well as 83 artillery bombardments using multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our forces and civilian settlements. Unfortunately, there have been casualties among the civilian population, including children. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
Settlements affected by aviation strikes include Bleshnia in the Chernihiv region; Bachivsk and Popivka in the Sumy region; Basove, Hatysche, Vovchanski Khutory, Synkivka, Kyslivka, and Pishchane in the Kharkiv region; Serebrianske forestry and Novoliubivka in the Luhansk region; Spirne, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Berdychiv, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region; Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
More than 130 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions have been subjected to artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group North in the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, actively conducting sabotage activities to prevent our forces from being redeployed to critical areas, and increasing the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group Khortytsia in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian troops repelled over 30 enemy attacks in the areas of populated settlements Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, the Defense Forces continue to withstand the enemy's advance in the areas of Makiivka and Dibrova in the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, our defenders repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue offensive operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, achieving success in areas east of Klishchiivka and east of Andriivka.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group Tavria in the Avdiivka direction, the enemy, with the support of tanks and armored vehicles, intensified offensive actions in the areas of Avdiivka, Tonenke, Keramik, and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region. Our defenders repelled all enemy attacks and prevented losses of their positions and frontlines.
In the Maryinka direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled over 10 enemy attacks in the areas of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy's attempts to advance near Zolota Nyva and Volodyne in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders are holding back the enemy in the areas of populated settlements Inzhenerne and Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, improving their tactical position west of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Our soldiers are inflicting losses on occupying forces in personnel and equipment and wearing down the enemy.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group Odesa in the Kherson direction, the Defense Forces are engaged in counter-battery warfare, destroying enemy supply depots and successfully targeting the enemy's rear areas.
Ukrainian Army's advance
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to defend the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine, conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, and advance in the Bakhmut direction. They are gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories and consolidating their positions.
Enemy losses
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces' aviation conducted 11 strikes on areas with enemy personnel, equipment, and military vehicles, and 9 strikes on enemy air defense systems.
Furthermore, our defenders destroyed a Russian Su-25 fighter jet and 7 tactical-level reconnaissance UAVs.
Missile units targeted the enemy's command post, ammunition depot, 3 areas with enemy personnel, equipment, and military vehicles, 7 artillery systems, and an enemy electronic warfare station.
