Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of October 10

Ukrainian forces are maintaining a defensive posture in the east and south while conducting offensive operations in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions. In the past day, there have been 39 combat engagements, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Enemy attacks
Over the past day, the enemy conducted 1 missile strike and 63 airstrikes, launching 47 rocket artillery barrages, targeting both our military positions and civilian objects within our country. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have suffered destruction and damage.
Additionally, overnight, Russia carried out another aviation strike on Ukraine, employing 36 combat drones of the Shahed-136/131 type. Air Defense Forces successfully destroyed 26 enemy Shaheds.
The following locations were subjected to aerial strikes: Halahanivka in the Chernihiv region; Dihtiarne and Stepne in the Sumy region; Kindrashivka, Petropavlivka, Pishchane in the Kharkiv region; Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Siversk, Spirne, Andriivka, Keramik, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region; Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region; Zmiivka and Berislav in the Kherson region.
Additionally, over 120 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions were subjected to artillery fire.
The frontline situation
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "North", encompassing in Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains relatively stable.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the adversary maintains a military presence in border regions and actively conducts subversive activities aimed at preventing the movement of Ukrainian forces to vulnerable sectors. They are also increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "Khortytsia", in the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled five enemy attacks near Synkivka and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 7 enemy attacks in the vicinity of Makiivka in the Luhansk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers successfully repelled 4 enemy attacks near Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive actions south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. They have achieved partial success in the area of Andriivka in the Donetsk region, inflicting casualties on the enemy in personnel and equipment and consolidating their positions on the achieved lines.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "Tavria", in the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, the enemy launched more than 15 unsuccessful attacks in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled an enemy attack near Staramaiske in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, our defenders are holding off the enemy in the Levadne area of the Zaporizhia region.
Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their offensive operations in the Melitopol direction, inflicting casualties on the occupying forces in terms of personnel and equipment, securing their occupied positions, and wearing down the enemy.
In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic group "Odesa", in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are engaged in counter-battery warfare, destroying supply depots and successfully targeting the enemy's rear areas.
Offensive by Ukrainian Armed Forces
Ukrainian Defense Forces continue their defensive operations in the east and south of Ukraine, offensive operations in the Melitopol direction, and advancing actions in the Bakhmut direction. They are successfully neutralizing the enemy, gradually liberating temporarily occupied territories, and consolidating their positions on the achieved frontlines.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the Defense Forces' aviation conducted 10 strikes targeting enemy personnel concentrations, weaponry, and military equipment.
Additionally, missile troops units successfully struck the enemy's command post, ammunition depot, two personnel concentration areas, weaponry, military equipment, and an electronic warfare station.
