Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of September 24

The Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region, are pushing the enemy out of their positions and consolidating on the achieved frontlines. Over the past day, there have been more than 20 combat clashes, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy shelling
Yesterday, the Russian Federation carried out another attack on Ukraine using kamikaze drones Shahed-136/131. As a result of the combat operations by the air defense, 14 out of 15 Shaheds were destroyed.
The enemy launched 5 missiles and 57 aviation strikes, and conducted 38 shelling attacks with rocket artillery, targeting both our military positions and civilian objects in our country. Unfortunately, there have been casualties and injuries among the civilian population due to Russian terrorist attacks. Private residential houses and other civilian infrastructure have suffered damage and destruction.
Aerial strikes hit Synkivka, Ivanivka, and Kyslivka in the Kharkiv region; Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; Serebryanka, Spirne, Vesele, Klishchiivka, Andriivka, Avdiivka, Maryinka, Vuhledar, Urozhaine, Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region; Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region; Beryslav, Kozatske, Mykolaivka, Olhivka, Lvove, Naddniprianske, Antonivka in the Kherson region.
More than 70 populated areas in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions came under artillery fire.
Frontline situation
In the area of responsibility of the North operational-strategic group in the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas, actively engaging in sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of our forces to critical directions and increasing the density of mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in the Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group in the Lyman direction, the defense forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the Bilohorivka area of the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy attempted to regain lost positions in the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region but did not succeed. Defense forces continue offensive actions south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses on the enemy in personnel and equipment, and consolidating on achieved frontlines.
In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational-strategic group in the Avdiivka direction, defense forces successfully maintain their positions, repelling enemy attacks in the Avdiivka area of the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, the enemy's attempts to advance in the Maryinka and Pobieda areas of the Donetsk region were unsuccessful, with over 10 failed attempts to displace our units from their positions.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, our defenders continue to hold their positions, defending our land from the occupiers.
In the Melitopol direction, the defense forces continue their offensive operation. Specifically, in the Verbove area of the Zaporizhzhia region, the enemy is being pushed out of their positions and consolidated on achieved frontlines.
In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational-strategic group in the Kherson direction, defense forces engage in counter-battery warfare, destroy enemy supply depots, and successfully strike at the enemy's rear.
Enemy losses
During the past day, the defense forces' aviation conducted 9 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, equipment, and military vehicles, and 7 strikes on enemy air defense missile complexes.
Rocket troops units hit 1 area of concentration of personnel, equipment, and military vehicles, 1 air defense missile complex, 8 artillery units, and 1 enemy radar station.
