Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of September 6

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction. Ukrainian troops have struck 14 enemy artillery positions. Within a day, there have been 28 clashes, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Enemy attacks
During the day, the enemy carried out 40 aviation strikes and conducted 51 artillery shelling using rocket systems on our troops' positions and populated areas.
Unfortunately, due to Russian terrorist attacks, there are casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have also suffered damage.
The possibility of rocket and aviation strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
Situation on the frontlines
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains largely unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Sydorivka in the Sumy region and Veterynarne in the Kharkiv region. They also carried out mortar and artillery shelling on more than 25 populated areas, including Karpovychi and Hremiach in the Chernihiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the Novoselivka area in the Luhansk region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Krokhmalyne in the Kharkiv region.
The enemy continues to conduct artillery and mortar shelling on populated areas, including Masyutivka, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Tabaivka, and Pischane in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the area of Novoiehorivka in the Luhansk region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region and Torske, Siversk, and Spirne in the Donetsk region.
The enemy continues to conduct artillery and mortar shelling on populated areas, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Torske, Dronivka, Siversk, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Zaliznianske, Klishchiivka, and Bila Hora in the Donetsk region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the area of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 20 populated areas, including Vasiukivka, Novomarkove, Bakhmut, Stupochky, Bila Hora, and Zalizne in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 10 populated areas, including Novooleksandrivka, Berdychi, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, defense forces continue to contain the Russian troops' advance in the area of Maryinka. The enemy conducted an aviation strike near Krasnohorivka. Artillery shelling affected populated areas including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Heorhiivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Yelyzavetivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Vuhledar and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 10 populated areas, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Shakhtarske, Zolota Niva, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, defense forces repelled enemy attacks in the area of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The enemy conducted aviation strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, and Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 15 populated areas, including Chervona Krynytsia, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Novodanylivka, and Orikhiv in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Kherson direction, the enemy conducted an aviation strike in the area of Mykhailivka in the Kherson region. Enemy artillery shelling affected more than 15 populated areas, including Mykhailivka, Havrylivka, Ivanivka, and Kherson in the Kherson region.
Advance of Ukrainian Armed Forces
At the same time, the Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, consolidating their positions and carrying out counter-battery measures.
Enemy losses
During the day, the defense forces' aviation carried out 11 strikes on areas where enemy personnel, equipment, and military technology were concentrated and 2 strikes on enemy air defense missile complexes.
The units of the missile forces and artillery during the day hit 1 area with enemy personnel, equipment, and military technology concentrated, 14 enemy artillery positions, 1 ammunition depot, and 1 enemy air defense missile complex.
