Russia-Ukraine war: Situation on the front as of September 3

Ukrainian military continues to advance in the Melitopol direction, while the Russian occupiers are attempting attacks in the east of our country. Over the past day, there have been 30 military clashes on the front lines, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian attacks
Over the course of the day, the enemy launched two missile strikes and 49 aerial attacks, as well as 42 shelling attacks from rocket artillery systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.
Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in casualties and injuries among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged.
The military warns that the likelihood of missile and aerial attacks across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.
Frontline situation
Over the past day, more than 30 military clashes have occurred.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.
In the Siversk and Slobozhanske directions, the enemy launched an aerial attack in the vicinity of Chuhunivka in the Kharkiv region. Occupiers shelled over 30 populated areas, including Hrinivka, Karpovychi, Leonivka, Hremiach Chernihiv region, Znob-Trubchevska, Kysla Dubyna, Kindrativka, Vodolagy, Zapsillia, Turia Sumy region, and Verkhnia Pysarivka, Vovchansk, Okhrimivka, Budarky, Hryhorivka Kharkiv region.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian aviation struck in the vicinity of Miasozharivka in the Luhansk region. Enemy artillery shelling targeted Kamianka and Berestove in the Kharkiv region.
In the Lyman direction, occupiers unsuccessfully attempted to advance in the vicinity of Novoehorivka in the Luhansk region. They carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Cherneshchyna in the Kharkiv region, Novoehorivka, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Spirne in the Donetsk region.
Russians shelled more than 15 populated areas, including Makiivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region, and Hryhorivka, Siversk, Zvanivka, Spirne, Fedorivka, and Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut direction, occupiers launched artillery attacks on more than 20 populated areas, including Minkivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Chervone, Druzhba, and New York in the Donetsk region. The enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Khromove, Ivanivske, Stupochkiv, and Bila Hora in the Donetsk region.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area east of Syeverne in the Donetsk region. They shelled more than 10 populated areas with artillery, including Nevelske, Syeverne, Novooleksandrivka, Keramik, and Berdychiv in the Donetsk region.
In the Maryinka direction, the invaders unsuccessfully attempted to advance in the area south of Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. They carried out artillery shelling in more than 10 populated areas, including Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, and Katerynivka in the Donetsk region.
In the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy launched aerial strikes in the areas of Vuhledar and Staromykhailivka in the Donetsk region. They shelled Vuhledar, Novoukrainske, Shakhtarsk, Zolota Nyva, Urozhaine, and Rivnopil in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy carried out aerial strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Enemy artillery shelling targeted more than 20 populated areas, including Novodarivka, Olhivske, Charivne, Pavlivka, Kamianske, Plavni in the Zaporizhzhia region, and Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
In the Kherson direction, Russian aviation struck in the areas of Odradokamianka and Olhivka in the Kherson region. More than 15 populated areas were shelled by enemy artillery, including Sablukivka, Odradokamianka, Lvove, Mykilske, Romashkove, and Veletenske in the Kherson region.
Ukrainian counteroffensive
Ukrainian defense forces continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol direction, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery actions.
Russian losses
During the day, the defense aviation carried out 10 strikes on areas with the concentration of enemy personnel, equipment, and military machinery, and 3 strikes on anti-aircraft missile complexes of the enemy.
The rocket forces and artillery units have damaged 6 areas with the concentration of enemy personnel, equipment, and military machinery, 12 artillery pieces in firing positions, 2 ammunition depots, 2 command posts, and 1 anti-aircraft missile complex of the enemy.
