As of 04:00 PM Kyiv time on January 4, 95 combat clashes have occurred on the front since the start of the day. The Defense Forces have already repelled 33 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk direction, according to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

Today, border settlements were hit by artillery fire from Russian territory, including Ryzhivka, Velyka Bereza, Iskryskivshchyna, and Hirky in the Sumy region.

Situation on the fronts

Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions: the enemy carried out 58 shelling attacks, including one with multiple-launch rocket systems.

Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction: Ukrainian forces repelled three enemy attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia, Prylipky, and toward Izbytske. Three more combat clashes are ongoing.

Kupiansk direction: since the start of the day, the enemy attempted to advance three times near Stepova Novoselivka and toward Hlushkivka and Petropavlivka, with fighting continuing.

Lyman direction: the invading army launched five attacks near Novoselivka, Kolodiazne, and Torske.

Sloviansk direction: the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near Dronivka.

Kramatorsk direction: one Russian offensive action toward Stupochky was recorded.

Kostiantynivka direction: our forces stopped 13 enemy assaults in the areas of Pleshchiivka, Oleksandro-Shultyne, Rusynyi Yar, Yablunivka, and toward Sofiivka. One combat clash is still ongoing.

Pokrovsk direction: since the start of the day, the Russian forces have attempted 38 times to push back our defenders from their positions in the areas of Shakhove, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward Novopavlivka. The Defense Forces are holding the line and have already repelled 33 attacks.

Oleksandrivka direction: the enemy attacked 17 times in the areas of Oleksandrohrad, Sosnivka, Vorone, Oleksiivka, Vyshneve, Solodke, and Yehorivka. Five combat clashes are still ongoing. Velykomykhailivka was hit by an airstrike using KAB precision-guided bombs.

Huliaipole direction: the Defense Forces repelled 25 Russian attacks in the areas of Zelene, Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Dorozhnianka, and toward Sviatopetrivka, Zaliznychne, and Dobropillia. Ten clashes are still ongoing.

Orikhiv direction: five combat clashes have occurred so far in Mala Tokmachka, Shcherbaky, and Stepove. The settlements of Orikhiv and Preobrazhenka were hit by guided bomb strikes.

Prydniprovskyi direction: no combat clashes have been recorded so far.

Other directions: the situation has not seen significant changes.

Russian army losses

The Russian army continues to lose equipment and soldiers due to the war started by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.

Just in the past day, from January 3 to 4, the enemy lost an additional 900 troops. In addition, the Defense Forces destroyed 12 artillery systems, 88 vehicles, and 278 drones.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Russian army losses have already exceeded 1.2 million personnel.
