As of 22:00 Kyiv time on December 7, there were 139 combat engagements on the front during the day. The hottest area again was the Pokrovsk direction, according to the report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy attacks

During the day, Russian forces carried out two missile strikes and 32 air strikes, used six rockets, and dropped 87 guided bombs. In addition, they deployed 3,358 kamikaze drones and conducted 3,057 attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

In the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out 131 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including one using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

In the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy launched four assaults on the positions of our units near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army attempted twice to break through the defenses of our forces near Pishchane.

In the Lyman direction, Russian forces attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 13 times near the settlements of Hrekivka, Derylove, Zarichne, Myrne, and in the directions of Oleksandrivka, Stavky, and Torske. Two combat engagements are ongoing.

Ukrainian defenders repelled six enemy assault attempts in the Sloviansk direction, where the Russian army tried to advance near Yampil and Serebrianka.

One enemy attack was repelled by our forces near Chasiv Yar in the Kramatorsk direction.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces launched 16 assaults on the positions of Ukrainian units near the settlements of Oleksandro-Shultyne, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Kleban-Byk, Yablunivka, and in the direction of Kostyantynivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka. Two combat engagements are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army attempted 46 times to advance on Ukrainian positions. The enemy attacked in the directions of Novyi Shakhovyi, Novyi Donbas, Bilytske, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Molodetske, Novopavlivka, and in the areas of Novoekonomichne, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Dachne, and Filiia. In some locations, fighting is still ongoing.

“Preliminary data indicate that today, a total of 88 enemy combatants were neutralized in this direction, including 51 permanently. Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed two vehicles, a quad bike, 31 UAVs, a personnel shelter, and struck two UAV control points and eight enemy personnel shelters,” the report stated.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attempted 13 times to break through the defenses of our forces near the settlements of Yalta, Sosnivka, Verbove, Vorone, Zlahoda, Krasnohirsk, Pryvilne, Solodke, and toward Vyshneve.

In the Huliaipole direction, 18 combat engagements were recorded, with the enemy trying to advance toward the settlements of Rybnye, Radisne, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Zelene, and Huliaipole. One engagement is still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy launched two unsuccessful attacks toward Novoandriivka and Prymorske.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to breach our defenses near the Antonivskyi Bridge.

On the other fronts, there were no significant changes.

Fighting for Pokrovsk

On December 5, the commander of the 7th Air Assault Corps, Yevhen Lasiichuk, stated that the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad are not encircled. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine control key areas and are working to expand logistics to support units on the front.

Additionally, the Operation Task Force East reported on December 7 that the Ukrainian military is conducting search-and-assault operations and eliminating enemy forces within the urban area of Pokrovsk.
